Job Responsibilities: Managing research laboratory.

​

Day to day responsibilities: Ordering, book work and management of contracted work with clients in the mining sector, onsite within Australia and offshore identifying research of interest in the area of expertise.

​

On the job experience gained: Flight training and skills dealing with long haul flights to remote areas of Australia. Aircraft maintenance planning, preventative maintenance planning and servicing.

Training in remote site preparation and power infrastructure installation at mining camps. The use of excavators, trenchers, loaders and other heavy equipment and training in supply chain logistics.

Termination: Central Coast Research Service Pty Ltd ceased trading in 2012 due to contractual failure of one of Central Coast Research Service Pty Ltd.’s clients losing funding.

Osiris Research (2006-2012)

 

Position Held: Sole trader

​

Job Responsibilities: Included the operation and book work for analysis laboratory undertaking jobs for clients within the mining sector.

 

Day to day responsibilities: Included assisting clients onsite with various problems associated with their mining tasks. Pinpointing analysis options to assist with production quality control measures.

 

On the job experience obtained: Training in the construction field. Including fume hood installation, laboratory furniture creation and installation. Operation of scissor lifts, large forklifts, industrial power installation. Tilt up slab factory installation. Welding mig, tig, gas and plastic welding.

 

Termination: Osiris research stopped trading due to the slowdown in the mining sector and lack of interest in creation of new mining developments.

 


IJHR&D Pty Ltd (2000-2007) University of Adelaide Research and commerce precinct, Thebarton Campus

Position Held: Director

​

Job description: R&D manager for the company fulfilling the projects needed by IJH Pty Ltd creating commercial outcomes as fast as possible from research undertaken on polymers and other compounds created in both our laboratory and theirs.
Identifying commercial scaling procedures from the polymer inception to pilot scheme production and then to complete commercially realized full scale production methods and procedures.

 

Day to day responsibilities: Included the managing and operation of multiple laboratories and the construction of pilot production testing facilities.

 

On the job experience gained: Australian standards, Chemical safety, GMP, dangerous goods, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry specializing in gas chromatography, thin layer chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography.

 

Termination of the company: Occurred in Jan 2007 after successful completion and commercial reality of research work undertaken for IJH Pty Ltd.
